Metro Tourism Guide
A quarterly self mailer bifold to generate DC tourism.
Process
As a native of the DMV (D.C. metro area), I wanted to infuse D.C. into a design project. With this in mind, I chose the D.C. metro (WMATA) as my client. The focal point of my work became a bifold self-mailer intended to be distributed widely to promote tourism in the city. Every element featured in this bifold was meticulously crafted by hand in Illustrator, without relying on external graphics. I carefully selected iconic D.C. landmarks to showcase, each illustration presenting its own unique challenge. Adhering closely to the WMATA brand guidelines was paramount. I utilized the Helvetica Neue font, which is consistent with their branding standards, and adhered faithfully to the CMYK color scheme of each metro line, as specified below the metro logo. This attention to detail ensures cohesion with WMATA's identity while capturing the vibrant spirit of Washington, D.C. I wanted this bifold to grab the reader’s attention with it’s pleasant use of color.
